Pedro Silvaz, 88, Burley, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, in Pocatello, ID. Pedro was born January 18,1936, in Munday, TX., the son of Carlos and Cesaria Silvaz. He married Maria Cruz Flores on April 25, 1960, in Minnesota. After her passing in 1980, he married Carolina Vargas on August 22, 1982. He and Carolina were married for 40 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church and prayed daily.

He moved to Idaho and made Burley his home in the early '60s. He purchased his home in 1965. He worked as a driver, field laborer, and contractor on various crops and helped many others secure jobs and careers in agriculture. No one worked harder or longer than Pedro.

He loved to sing and dance at home and family gatherings. He enjoyed meals and movies with his family. He often quoted movies and had an encyclopedic knowledge of actors and their work.  He loved to laugh and joke with everyone. He was kind to all and welcomed all.  He loved all his family and helped them in any way possible. This legend created a great legacy and posterity and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife Carolina, three daughters, Cesaria McClain, Sandie (Alfonso) Baiz, Ramona (Roberto) Juarez, five sons, Pedro Silvaz Jr., Raymond Silvaz, Robert (Lore) Silvaz, Richard (Anita) Silvaz, Pablo (Sasha) Silvaz, and Gabriel Silvaz, 34 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 12 siblings, and manynieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by many loved ones.

Family and friends may gather from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Thérèse the Little Flower Catholic Church. Services will conclude with burial at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend.
