Longtime Burley resident Margaret Olivas passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday September 28, 2014 at the age of 88. She was born in Kansas City Missouri on February 24, 1926 and was raised in Oak Creek Colorado. She was married to Domingo Olivas and shared 70 beautiful years together. They later moved to Burley Idaho in 1962 and started their own trucking company. She was employed by J.R. Simplot where she later retired from. She was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church. She is survived by one brother George Solorio (Linda) of Denver Colorado and two sisters Ramona Camacho and Dolores Duran both of Denver Colorado. Four sons Jake Olivas of Burley, Matthew Olivas (Trine) of Jerome, Leo Olivas (Lupe) of Kuna Idaho, Valentino Olivas (Mary) of Burley. Six daughters Stella Ahumada of Riverdale Utah, Linda Gallegos of Espanola New Mexico, Elaine Valdez of Espanola New Mexico, Lorretta Larios (David) of Burley, Grace Johnson (Vince) of Rigby Idaho, and Irma Garcia of Burley. She was preceded in death by her husband Doming Olivas and two sons, Doming Olivas Jr. and Raymond Olivas. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Avenue with Father Julio Vicente, officiating. Burial will follow in the Gem Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.
