Albert Cumberworth Obituary

Albert Lee Cumberworth, 89, of Burley passed away Friday, September 26, 2025.

Albert was born October 21, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois to Joseph and Daisy Cumberworth.

Albert lived in Burley, Idaho at his time of death, was from Lewiston, Idaho.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Daisy Cumberworth and a daughter Trena McCarty. And grandson Justin Willow Proctor. His brother Johny Cumberworth, and sisters Ilene Trumble, and Lorene Bursik.

Survivors- Wendy Davidson, Londa Johnson, Randy Cumberworth and Terry Cumberworth.

His children- daughters- Kathy Cumberworth, Londa Johnson, and Wendy Davidson. Sons- Randy Cumberworth & Terry Cumberworth.

Albert enjoyed playing his guitar, and started playing for crowds at 9 years old, then in the early 2000's, he was bitten in the arm by a dog and made it difficult for him to play guitar so he went to playing the key board and doing karaoke shows, with his singing with all 3, he was so loved by all the people. He did work at other kinds of employment, yet music was his main employment, and with his music he had been put on contracts, as one was to Alaska to play his guitar and sing, he was such an excellent guitar player & singer, his main work and hobby was his enjoyment of the crowds, in making them happy with his entertainment for the people. He loved and played country music and loved listening to Willie Nelson.

He was a true believer in God, and God's word of the Holy Bible, and in his lifetime, he had even been a preacher, in teaching God's word.

He had a great since of humor, with always making everyone laugh, along with his joking.

He was truly a good-hearted man, with such a great personality.

I would like to thank Hospice at Harrison Hope, for all the care and comfort they shared with and for my dad Albert and I his daughter Wendy, and especially thank Rachel, the Chaplin, of sharing God's love, in such precious prayers. I would like to thank them also for celebrating Dad's birthday by singing Happy Birthday to him with me. Thank you to Morrison Payne Funeral Home for all their help and especially to the Secretary Tarisa for all her extra help.

"Memories"

Londa Johnson, daughter- I have so many memories of my dad, always joking and laughing, so I guess if I only had one thing to say, it is, that I'm going to miss him and I love him, and I am so glad that he was my dad, which is the most important thing to me.

Randy Cumberworth, son- my dad was so funny, back in the early 70's, dad had bought our first microwave, an Almana microwave, that he paid $300.00 for, dad didn't like the way the food wound up looking or tasting and wound up using it for a coffee pot.

Terry Cumberworth, son- dad was an excellent musician, who spent most of his time entertaining crowds, and on contracts for his music, of playing his guitar, across the country, and worked hard to provide for his family.

Sally Cumberworth, daughter in law- I always enjoyed spending time with him at his karaoke shows and singing, he was so much fun to spend time with, and be around, I miss him so much.

Heather Cumberworth, daughter in law- we kidnapped dad from his facility and went to the movies, he loved his popcorn, then living with us, he stole an electric scooter cart from the store, so he could come down to the V.F.W. Hall to see me, I enjoyed his playing music and singing at his karaoke shows.

Fern Lynch, ex-wife and friend- I have known albert for 70 years, he was a professional musician, and not a drunkard, he was a one man band, he played by ear, and could play any instrument, and at times, I played bass guitar with him, we also studied God's word together, and I loved listening to him read the bible, then discussing with me of what God was telling him of what he had just read.

Wendy Davidson, daughter- I enjoyed listening to my dad playing his guitar and singing, along with dancing to his music, and singing at his karaoke shows, I so enjoyed singing with dad the song of Rockin Years, along with dancing with him, I loved reading, studying and discussing, the Bible with him, he was a wise man to God's word, and I loved praying together with him. I loved just being able to spend time with him, he was such a loving person and father. I was in a life-or-death car accident back in 1972, a head on collision, and went through the windshield and was in a coma. Dad had told me how he was praying for me and then how he seen God's angels surround all around me, God assured dad that I was in His care of love and protection. With the last hours of dad's time here on earth, I put dads’ headphones on him and let him listen to Willie Nelson, then in the last hour of his time here on earth, I held his hand and was talking to him about God and joining with God's angels. Then God had picked his new rose from his garden, and created his new angel, it was such a blessing with my getting to share of releasing my father to God. I love you dad, forever.

There are so many memories of Albert Cumberworth, that will never be forgotten, he carried a heart of gold, he was a gift from God to everyone that knew him, he will be loved and missed so much forever and will never be forgotten.
