Alicia F. Chavez Obituary
Alicia F. Chavez, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025 in Heyburn, Idaho. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Heyburn for over 40 years.
Alicia was born to Ernesto and Elvira Alejandro on March 20, 1946 in Sabinal, Texas. She attended Sabinal High School and married Jose S. Chavez on April 20, 1963 in Sabinal. They made the move to Idaho shortly after and raised six children. She spent many summers working in the fields to help provide for her family. Alicia instilled a great work ethic in all of her children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose S. Chavez, her brother Ernie Alejandro, and sisters, Carmen Pelayo, and Margarita Robles.
Alicia is survived by her children Joe (Pauline) Chavez of Nampa, Julio Chavez of Burley, Mike (Elsa) Chavez of Nampa, Mario Chavez of Heyburn, Carmen Chavez of Boise, and Jessica (Victor) Guzman of Boise, 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Jordan, Joey, Nicole, Melissa, Kristine, Mario, Aleesha, Annika, Lucas, Myah, Marcus, and 19 great-grandchildren, plus one great-great grandchild.
Alicia exemplified a kind soul and a gentle spirit. Her favorite place was at family gatherings, surrounded by the people she loved. One of her greatest joys was playing cards with her sisters, which included the occasional trip to Jackpot. She spent countless hours working in her flower gardens. She was the heart and soul of our family and will be deeply missed.
The family is eternally grateful for all of those that took part in taking care of our loving mother. A special thanks goes out to Carmen Chavez, Jessica Chavez, Pauline Chavez, Rosie Rodriguez, and Bertha Pelayo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Therese Little Flower Church at 1601 Oakley Ave. in Burley, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
