Barbara Mayes

Barbara K (Harkness) Mayes passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 after losing her battle against breast cancer. She was born in Burley, Idaho to Alice and Herman Harkness in June 1945.  She then graduated from Burley High School in 1963.  She met and Married Leo Mayes in 1976, they were later divorced.  From that marriage she had 2 daughters, Amber Holbrook, Nampa, and Misty Pyne, also from Nampa.  She retired from McCains in 2006 and shortly after, with just a little begging, moved up to Nampa to be with her girls, but most importantly her grandbabies.  They were her pride and joy.  She made sure she got to see at least one of them daily.

She was proceeded in death by her mom, Alice Harkness, her dad, Herman Harkness, and her brother, CK Harkness. She is survived by her brother, Kirby Harkness, her 2 daughters, Amber and Misty, as well as her grandbabies, Dylan, Jeron, Riley, Michael, Klayton, Makayla, and Justin.

Her daughters would like to give a special thank you to Sunnyridge, as well as Debra and Laura from Encompass Hospice for taking such good care of our mom.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley.
