Dale Oliver Korb, 92 year old Rupert resident, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley. He was born on January 11, 1923 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska the son of Watson and Pearl Curfman Korb. He married Viola Jones on March 30, 1948 in Elko, Nevada. Dale started Korb Plumbing 1950. He ran his plumbing business until 1972. He then moved to the coast where he bought a fishing boat and did commercial fishing until 1989. He then moved to Rupert in 1990. Dale gratefully served his country, serving in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was wounded on Christmas day in France in 1944 and received the Purple Heart along with many other medals of honor. Dale is survived by his daughter Sharon (Butch) Hayden of Heyburn; step -son John D. (Judy) Archer of McMinnville, Oregon; his siblings, Clara DeSpain of Heyburn, George (Barbara) Korb of Burley; he is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, his daughter Connie Korb, step son Jimmy Skiff along with eight siblings. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley with Military Honors provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. at the Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley.
