Daniel Dee Smith, 42 years young, Oakley Resident, Died Monday, July 16, 2018 at Baja California Tijuana Mexico. Dan was born September 11, 1975 in Burley Idaho. Son to Dell and Barbara Walton Smith. Though attending schools in Oakley, learning many skills, he was mainly a self-educated man. When he put his mind and hands to work anything was possible. Dan was an amazingly skilled mechanic, and co-owner with his father, and brother, of Smith's Repair, spending most of his time in the Oakley Shop. Dan was a good and honest, hardworking man. He touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed. Dan loved spending his free time outdoors on dirt bikes, fishing, hunting, or riding his street bike. Anything with his children or grand babies (9 and counting) was what made Daniel's days complete. Helping other people was second nature for Danny, there was just never anything he wouldn't do for anyone. Dan met the love of his life, Rebecca Owens in August of 1995, they later married on September 5, 1998 making their home in Oakley and enjoying the small town life. Dan is survived by his loving wife; Rebecca of Oakley, His parents; Dell Smith and Barbara Craner, His children; Cody James Taylor of Wyoming, Jared Anthony Taylor of Oakley, Daniel Evan Smith Jr. Of Shoshone, Tyrell Jacob Smith, Danielle Reashly Smith, Erikc Leandro Koellen, and Victoria JoAnn Smith all of Oakley. His Siblings, Donna Whitaker of Burley, Dixie Smith of Twin Falls, Dell (Loretta) Smith of Burley, Deanna Smith of Burley, and Delta (Mickey A.) Smith of Burley. Along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parental and maternal grandparents, several aunts and uncles, his cousin Clint Smith, and 2 infant children of his own. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2018 at the Oakley stake Center. In keeping with Dan's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, July 27, 2018 at the Oakley Stake Center and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
