Donna Viola (Brower) Draper

Donna Viola Draper, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and confidante passed from this life on April 13, 2022 at the age of 94.

Donna was born July 17, 1927 to Leonidas Brower and Laura Viola Anderson in Heyburn, ID. She was the first of Lee and Viola’s four children.

Donna married Carmen Elmer Draper on November 21, 1944 at the home of his parents, Elmer and Bertha Draper. Their marriage was solemnized In the Idaho Falls Temple on March 28,1964. Carmen and Donna were married for 42 years before his passing in 1996.

Donna is survived her sister, Nila Watts of Coldwater, OH., her sister-in-law, Lucille Brower of Meridian, lD., her son, Carmen Rodney Draper and his wife Rose of Burley, ID., her daughter, Sandra Lee Jones and her husband Randy of Paul, ID., ten grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren. Also, many foster children including, Eunice Bautista, Eunice’s four children, Brandon, Irene, Shiloh and Martie and their families; Eunice's brother Toby and sister Ernestine, who we lovingly call Ernie. Mom has cared for Ernie in her home for the past 55 years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carmen, ,her brothers Junius Lee and Wayne, her daughter Kathleen, her great grandson Callahan, and her great grandson-in-law Corbin.

Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities including Primary teacher, visiting teacher and Relief Society President. In 1975 mom was presented with the Idaho Life Merit Award for special service to children through foster care. She was a hard worker and full of compassion for all mankind.

We want to thank the staff at Parke View Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Higgins for the tender care they gave our mom in the last few weeks.

Mom has always been the center of our world! We will miss her sass, her sarcasm, and her caring heart. We wish everyone could have a Donna Viola Brower Draper in their life!!

Services will be held April 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burley West Stake Center, 2420 Parke Ave. Burley, ID., with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service. A viewing will also be held April 24, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 8 :00p.m. at Morrison Payne Funeral Home located at 321 East Main St. Burley, ID. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Heyburn, ID. immediately following the service.
