Freddie Benally, 84, of Burley, died Nov 29, 2020 at St. Lukes Hospital in Twin Falls of COVID-19 complications. Freddie was born in Fort Defiance, Arizona on October 12, 1936. He lived in Burley, Idaho at the time of his death.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Marie Benally. Daughters: Connie (Jerry) Satterwhite, Paul, ID. Carol (James Cornelius) Benally, Ogden, UT. Carma Kaufman, Heyburn, ID. Fredeline (J.) Wing, Burley, ID. Althea (Mike) Pomerleau, Rupert, ID. Sons: Frederick Benally, Paul, ID. Farrell Benally, Burley, ID. Brother: Albert Benally, Fort Defiance, AZ. Grandchildren: Kristina Cornelius, Kale Satterwhite, Nate Benally, Zeke Benally, Cole Benally, Mason Pomerleau, Shera Kaufman, Mark Kaufman, Adam Satterwhite, Janna Satterwhite, Robyn Rios and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ashley and Yilxazha Benally. Siblings: Elizabeth Beyal, May June Benally, Joe Benally, John Benally, Arkie Benally, Husky Belone and a Granddaughter: Whitney L. Murphy.
Freddie attended the Apostolic House of Prayer in Rupert, Idaho. He was a quiet, kind, non-boisterous father. He was proud of the fact that his brother John was one of the original Navajo Code Talkers. He was friendly to people he met and knew. He usually had a smile on his face. He worked at the J. R. Simplot Co. for many years until he retired.
Freddie enjoyed hunting with his sons and fishing with mom and his grandsons.
The family wishes to thank all of the kind, compassionate doctors and nurses at St. Lukes ICU that helped Freddie.
