(Jack)James Andrew Thomson

(Jack) James Andrew Thomson, 98, of Heyburn passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at home.

Jack was born April 26, 1926 in Murry, Utah to William and Elva Thompson, Thomson. Jack accomplished much in his life and served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II .  He also worked in the building and construction trade building many homes and buildings in the area. A skill many members of his family have used to make their living and raise their families. His greatest accomplishment was raising a great family in the Heyburn area with his cherished wife Myrtle Lois.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents and wife Myrtle. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Faye, LaVonne, Jean, and Vida. His brothers Bud and Joe.                                                                            

He is survived by his sister Gladys McKeeth. His children Bruce (Sheila) Thomson; Dwaine (Linda) Thomson; Joan (Roy) Herrick along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are a great blessing to his life.

The Thomson family would like to give a special thanks to the Minidoka County Sheriff’s office and to the First Responder who assisted them at this time of loss but also a time of love and gratitude for having had Jack with us for so long. We as a family are comforted knowing he has entered into rest with our Lord and reunited with other loved ones waiting there.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley, Idaho. Viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service. Services will conclude with burial at Paul Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
