Heaven gained a very special person but leaves a big hole in my heart on the morning of September 23.
2023. Kaleen Kaiko Kawamoto Leslie, 59, passed away at her home in Heyburn, Idaho.
Kaleen was born on August 2, 1964 in Twin Falls, Idaho. The daughter of Kay Kawamoto and Colleen Boyce Prouty.
She was raised, educated, and graduated from Twin Falls High School.
Kaleen worked at various places in Magic Valley such as Koto's Restaurant, George K's in Twin Falls, George K's East, and McCain Foods in Burley.
She loved reading, listening to the oldies, doing crossword puzzles, going to movies with friends, bowling, and spending time with her animals.
Kaleen was the most selfless person I know. She always thought of others by helping them and making sure they were ok whether it be with kind words or lending a hand.
Kaleen is preceded in death by her parents, Kay and Colleen, half-brother Kerry Kawamoto, Uncle George Kawamoto, cousins Sam Wojick and Louis Tanaka, Aunt Darlene, and her dogs Muffy, Arthur, and Cooper.
She leaves behind Lisa (Russ) Hutchison and their children Leslie (Adam) Cooper, Kortney (Tyler) Kelsey,
Alexandra (Scott Ritchie) Hutchison, and Abigail (Rivers Trevino) Hutchison since they were her family, and she had no kids of her own. Also, a half-sister Becky, cousins, and her cat Merla.
A special thank you to Dianne Stanfield for taking her to her doctor appointments and making sure she was comfortable in the last months of her life. She is forever grateful to you and so am I. Also, to Jessie Mack for the time to visit, call, text, and run errands for her. Also, for the memorial table and releasing the balloons(in spite of her wishes) But most of all to her McCain's family for the prayers and amazing; fundraiser that you had to help defray costs while she was unable to work for the past months.
Per Kaleen's wishes there will be no formal services. Fly high with the angels my sweet sister because you now are at peace and not in pain anymore. Until we meet again!! Love you always and forever.
Friends may make donations in her name to Magic Cats, PO Box 481, Buhl, Idaho 83316 or to Journey Home Rescue PO Box 147, Shoshone, ID 83352
Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
