Kathy Bailey Obituary

Kathy was 65 years old, born in Burley, Idaho on March 13, 1954.  She passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Parke View Care Center in Burley where she had been for the past five years.

She is survived by her three children, Angela Bergstrom, David Povlsen and Jason Bergstrom; her brother Bruce Newcomb, siter Darla Lewis, her fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Craig Newcomb, her brother Kenneth Newcomb and her sister Ruth Murphy and her sister’s husband Doyal Murphy.

Kathy will be remembered as an intelligent, hardworking book worm who in her younger years enjoyed many outdoor activities despite her sun allergy.

With her unique blend of compassion and sarcasm, thoughtfulness and sass, she will be missed by many.  Her favorite pastimes were reading and spending time at the local library.  Kathy also enjoyed bowling, camping and crocheting.  She was a caring mother who achieved most of her goals later in life.

Kathy proved to us all that you  are never too old to pursue your dreams.  She graduated from CSI in Twin Falls with an associate degree in bookkeeping at age 49.

A memorial service for Kathy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home located at 321 East Main Street in Burley, Idaho 83318.
