Kelly James Page, 71 of Provo, Utah passed away from a heart attack dancing on June 3, 2023 exactly 3 years after his brother Brock Page. He was born in Burley, Idaho on September 1, 1952. Kelly was predeceased by his parents James and Verna. He was a brother to six siblings and preceased by Glen, Brock, Gary, and Vicki. He was survived by his brothers Dallas and Rick. He was a proud father of four children Michael, Jill, Stacey, Don and survived by them and their mother Ann.
Kelly was an accomplished scholar with a Masters of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Pedagogy from Brigham Young University Utah. Early in his career Kelly worked with his brothers in construction as a skilled carpenter and builder. He also worked as an educator and professor at Brigham Young University. He coached his four children and many others in basketball, baseball, tennis, and racquetball. In addition to sports, he taught music including piano and guitar. Before retiring, he took pleasure stacking produce beautifully and greeting customers at Walmart as a loyal employee for over 5 years.
Kelly had a young and gentle heart with a passion for music and dancing. He was gifted with the ability to play many instruments including the guitar and keyboard. He continued to compose and perform music throughout his life and was very proud of his band Pages in Time. He helped create and support the Utah County LDS single dances. He enjoyed hosting dances and karaoke parties as a D.J. He had many friends in the dance community who he taught, danced with, and performed for. When he wasn’t dancing and singing, he loved to fish and he spent a large part of his life outdoors.
A luncheon for friends and family will be held Friday June 9 from 12pm – 4pm at the Canyon View Park pavilion in Provo Canyon. The attire is casual dress and food will be provided. The address is 2383 E Provo Canyon Road Provo, Utah 84604. A memorial service for friends and family will be held Friday evening starting 6:30 pm at 965 N Locust Lane in Provo, Utah 84604. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Oakley Cemetery in Oakley, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.
