Laura Lilly Jones

Laura Lilly Jones (Miss Jones), 83, of Burley, Idaho went to live with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2017 at Highland Estates.  Lilly was born on February 20, 1934 in Kimberly, Idaho to Alylius Jackson and was raised by her grandparents, Willard and Reeva Woodland.  As a child growing up, Lilly would help her grandparents in the fields and would drive her grandpa into town to play poker.  Grandma would not like this at all.  While working two jobs she would have to take taxi cabs to and from work which is where she met the love of her life, George Jones.  They were married in 1964 in Burley, Idaho.  Together they raised her seven children from a previous marriage and one between them.  There was never a dull moment in the house!

Lilly graduated at the top of her class from Kimberly High School and then attended college and obtained her LPN license in 1969.  This was one of her happiest days and she was so happy and excited.  Her and her best friend Mary, did this together.  She worked as an LPN for 34 years at Cassia Memorial Hospital, which later became Park View Care Center.

Mom was a very wise, kind, giving and loving person.  She did everything she could for her children and even people she didn’t know.  She will be greatly missed by her eight children: Judy Torrez of Burley, Jerry (Connie) Satterwhite of Burley, Jim (Angie) Satterwhite of Burley, Tony (Reyna) Satterwhite of Denver, Colorado, Mark (Tammy) Satterwhite of Boise, Kevin (Kelly) Jones of Burley, Brian (Anita) Satterwhite of Heyburn and George (Kelly) Jones of Boise.  She is preceded in death by her husband George Jones, mother Alylius Jackson, grandparents Willard and Reeva Woodland, sister Deanna Decaria, sister Barbara Hathaway and numerous aunts and uncles.  The family would like to thank Becca for everything she did for mom.  She really loved you.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Truth Tabernacle, 2459 Highland Avenue in Burley.  A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley and for one hour prior to the services at the church.  Burial will take place at the Pleasant View Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left for the family at morrisonpayne.com.
