Leda B. Hendrix, 91, Burley, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Rosetta Assisted Living in Burley Idaho.
She was born July 19,1931, in Wallsburg, Utah, the daughter of John Alton Bigelow and Fern Thorne Bigelow. Leda graduated from Delta High School in Delta, UT in 1949. She lived in Utah, California, Washington, Alaska, and Idaho.
She was predeceased by her former husband Norman Walter Johnson and her husband Shirley W. Hendrix, whom she married on March 31, 1973 and was later sealed to July 16, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Leda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully for decades in many callings, her talents were aptly used as a teacher, leader, pianist, and chorister. Leda served a part-time mission at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City.
A lifelong enthusiast of genealogy, Leda was a member and held offices in Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Idaho State Genealogical Society. In her professional life, Leda worked many years as a bookkeeper and secretary and served her community as City Treasurer of Washington, Utah and City Council Member of Acequia, Idaho.
She is survived by her children: Russell Johnson, Linda Johnson, Marilyn Steffensen, Steven Hendrix, Shirleen Noble, and McKay Hendrix; siblings Verna Coffman, Uvonne Ayers, and Lee Bigelow. She was preceded in death by sister LaRee Forbes.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley. The burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Rupert Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.
