Linda Jones Obituary

Linda Jones (Johnson), 77, of Burley, ID joined her Heavenly Father on May 16th while hospitalized in Twin Falls. Linda was born January 3, 1944 in San Diego, California to Orville and Amanda Johnson (Young) and was the youngest of her and her older sibling, Larry Johnson, who was seven years older than her. Her family moved back to Burley when she was one year old and that is where she grew up. Some of her fondest memories about growing up included being with her grandparents and playing at their home. Her grandparents would save tuna and soup cans for her to play with in the dirt so she could make mud pies. They also would have lots of kittens for her to play with. She loved playing with the kittens and would pack them all over the yard while playing. Her love for animals stemmed from having those memories with her grandparents. She also enjoyed gardening, milking cows with her grandpa and styling her grandpa's hair. She thought it was so fun to style her grandpa's hair because she knew he would give her a nickel or dime when she was done so afterwards she could walk across Overland to Pick & Pack to buy a Pepsi and Hershey bar or penny candies. She was proud of both of her parents for being hard workers. She remembered her dad being a great builder and her mom working at Prices Cafe and the school as a teacher. She was so proud of her dad when he built their home. She enjoyed growing up next to her Uncle Grant and Aunt Nelly and being able to play with all the cousins she had in the area.
After high school, she went to a bible school in Waxahachie, TX and in San Antonio, TX. After she returned home from schooling she met Russell Young. They were married in 1969 and had three children together Suzy and Anny (twins) in 1970 and Kevin in 1974. They were married for five years. She went on to remarry and married Dale Jones a couple years afterwards. They had one child together, Joshua in 1977. They raised their children in the Burley area and decided to move to Spokane, WA after Dale's retirement. They lived there for about 5-6 years before relocating back to Idaho, this time northern Idaho, in Coeur d'Alene where she stayed for a few more years before relocating back to Burley, ID.
She enjoyed spreading the Word of God to all of her family and friends. She also loved drawing/coloring, baking, and singing. She had the bubbliest personality and would welcome anyone around in her presence. She was loved by everyone around her. She also enjoyed spending time and spoiling her two great grandchildren at any opportunity she had. She was most excited to be reunited with her parents, grandparents, late family members and all of her late animals.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Orville & Amanda Johnson. She was survived by her two daughters Suzy Young and Anny Brown (Young) and her two sons Kevin Young and Joshua Jones along with her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Linda wanted a private service with her family and friends at the local Connors Cafe to celebrate her life. The family will celebrate her life with a party at Connors Cafe on Saturday, June 12th at 3 p.m.
