Lucila Paz Velazquez Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother, Lucila Paz, also known as Mama. We also have peace, knowing that she is reunited with our wonderful Father and Grandfather Juventino Paz, and our beloved brother Raul Paz. Our mama suffered a stroke back in the late 80s, which resulted in the paralyzation of her right side of her body, but you would’ve never known it by her perseverance to push on in this life by still doing everything she did before she had the stroke. She still made tortillas , learned how to write with her left hand, and walked everywhere. She wouldn’t let us assist her in many many things because she said she could do it herself. We all cherish the time we had with Mama and Papa. There will never be anyone who will fill the void in our lives. Towards the end, her sweet daughter, Maria also known as Soco, her daughter-in-law Goldie, and her granddaughter Anissa (which whom she also cherished) never left her side. We have comfort, knowing that Mama will now be reunited with her parents, siblings, and other family members who have passed.
Most importantly, she was proceeded in death by her son Raul, her Grandson, Jorge and her cherished husband, Juventino with whom she found great pleasure in always trying to spark some argument with him.
She is also survived by her children, Bertha (Michoacan Mexico), her son Santiago, daughter Soco in (Oakley, Idaho}, her son Jose Luis (Arizona), her son Elias (Jerome), Ofelia (Idaho Falls), and two sons Fabian and Avalberto (Kansas). She is also survived by many many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family who loved her very much.
Thank you to Rogelio, Soco, Beno, Roy,  Fer and Rudy for making sure mama was never alone!

We had many many visitors. from friends to family members that came to visit her before her passing. We also give great thanks to you.

We would also like to give a big thank you to Intermountain Health Care. Especially Bobby Ann, and Stephanie, who are very compassionate and very helpful. Also, Miss Vikki Cox, who took care of our Mama. There are no words to describe how grateful we are, even though Mama could be stubborn at times. Because she thought she could just do everything on her own and didn’t want us to help her. We believe that is what gave her strength and courage to go on. Thank you to Morrison Payne Funeral Home for assisting us in our time of grief.
There will also be a luncheon held at the house of her daughter, Maria (Soco) which was also Mama‘s residence on Worthington Street right after burial. Please come and join us and share your memories that you have of Mama.
