Maxine Adams Obituary

Maxine Martin Adams, 91 year old life long Oakley resident, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
She was born February 10, 1923 in Oakley (Basin), the daughter of John Sagers Martin and Bertha Fairchild Martin. She received her education in Oakley. She married Ernest Adams on March 15, 1942 in Oakley. They were side by side sweethearts for 55 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was admired and appreciated for her sense of humor, her integrity, and was well respected by all who came in contact with her. She enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in her home, yard and rose garden. Not a weed could survive in her yard. She enjoyed reading and was an avid sports fan. Maxine was an active member of the Oakley Vigilantes and enjoyed many outings with the group. She served as their Captain for many years. Maxine is survived by three children; Gary Adams of Salt Lake City, UT., Lloyd (Kris) Adams of Oakley, Loa (Steven) McLaws of Boise; three grandchildren, Brad Adams of Oakley, Jeff (Rachelle) Adams of Boise, Michael McLaws of Boise; three great-grandchildren, Jaydon, Stefanee and Mason; two sisters -in-law; many nieces and nephews and her little dog, Lilly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, two sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Oakley Idaho Stake Center in Oakley with Bishop James Cooper officiating, burial will follow in the Oakley Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to the funeral.
