Raquel Chavez, 76, of Heyburn, Idaho (Boise, Idaho) passed
away with her daughter, Elizabeth Flores, by her side on
Wednesday, December 17th, 2025. Raquel, affectionately known to
some as “Raqui,” was born on June 25th, 1949 to Jose deJesus
Chavez Bernal and Maria Isabel Silva Bernal in La Garita, Jalisco,
Mexico and was raised by her aunt Rebeca Chavez Bernal.
She moved to Southern California as a young adult and later
married Ramon Flores in 1985. Ten years later they moved to
Heyburn, Idaho and opened up “La Raza Tortilleria,” a tortilla
factory, in Burley, Idaho shortly after. She was an active and
beloved member of St.Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in
Burley, Idaho. She lived in the service of others and was always
there to lend a helping hand. She loved going on walks with her
dogs and spending time with family.
Raquel is proceeded in death by her father and mother, her
aunt, Rebeca Chavez Bernal, her husband, Ramon Flores, and her
brother, Jose de Jesus Chavez. She is survived by her daughter,
Elizabeth “Liz” Flores and grand-dog, Hallie.
Recitation of the Rosary and viewing will be held at 10:15am
followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 23,
2025 at St.Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in Burley,
Idaho. Afterwards, she will be interned at the Riverside Cemetery in
Heyburn, Idaho.

falleció con su hija, Elizabeth Flores, a su lado el miércoles 17 de
diciembre de 2025. Raquel, también conocida cariñosamente por
algunos como “Raqui,” nació el 25 de junio de 1949 en La Garita,
Jalisco, México. Sus padres fueron Jose de Jesús Chávez Bernal y
María Isabel Silva Bernal y fue criada por su tia, Rebeca Chavez
Bernal.Se mudó al sur de California cuando era una joven y unos
anos enseguida se casó con Ramón Flores en 1985. Diez años
después se mudaron a Heyburn, Idaho y abrieron "La Raza
Tortilleria” en Burley, Idaho, poco después. Era una miembra activa
y querida de la Iglesia Católica de Santa Teresita en Burley, Idaho.
Ella vivía al servicio de los demás. Le encantaba salir a pasear con
sus perritas y pasar tiempo con la familia.
Raquel es procedida en la muerte por su padre y su madre, su
tía, Rebeca Chávez Bernal, su esposo, Ramón Flores, y su
hermano, José de Jesús Chávez. Le sobreviven su hija, Elizabeth
"Liz" Flores y su nieta-perrita, Hallie.
La visita y recitación del Rosario se llevarán a cabo a las 10:15
a.m., con misa en seguida a las 11:00 a.m. el martes 23 de
diciembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Teresita en
Burley, Idaho. Después, será internada en el cementerio Riverside
en Heyburn, Idaho
