Burley--Rex Brent Jones, a 79 year old resident passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. A loving husband and father of 8; Suzanne (Rick) Belger, Idaho Falls, ID, Robyn (Chris, deceased) Patterson, Burley, ID, Barbara (Randy) Williams, Houston, TX, Brad (deceased), Rex (Nichole) Jones Rupert, ID, LesLee (Greg) Hall, Houston, TX, Cassandra (Wade) Grisenti, Burley, ID, Thaddeus (Katy) Jones, McCall, ID.   

Brent was born in Salt Lake City on April 30th, 1943 to Rex and Eveline (Parish) Jones. He joined his older sister, Linda (Joey Pepper) and later he was joined by Calvin (Diane) Jones, Amy (Jun Komatsu), Clint (Joanie-deceased) Jones. He was a proud grandfather of 29 and 19 great-grandchildren. He was so proud of their accomplishments. 

He lived in Sandy, Utah until he was 15 years old.  He moved to Burley and worked for Gary D. Jones Construction until retirement.  He started out digging basements by hand and became an accomplished finish carpenter.  He could do it all.  He has left his mark on many buildings, churches, potato storages, and homes in Burley and many other towns.  He was always making wooden treasures for his children, grandchildren, relatives and many friends. 

Brent married Bonita S. Lammers, June 21, 1979. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, singing in the Barbershop Chapter, and different quartets.  He loved horse trips with his sons, nephews, and friends.  He loved his dogs that he trained and hunted with. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Rex and Eveline Jones, in-laws Harold and Belva Lammers, his son Brad, son-in-law Chris Patterson, grandson Nathan Patterson, sister-in-law Joanie Jones, and a great-nephew Baden Bleazard. 

The viewing will be held on Friday, April 28th, 2023 from 6-8 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Unity 2nd Ward Building. 275 South 250 East, Burley, ID. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 at 11:00a.m.

LDS Unity 2nd Ward Building. Family and friends will be received from 10:00a.m. to 10:45a.m. the morning of the funeral.   Graveside services will immediately follow at Gem Memorial Cemetery, 2435 Overland Ave, Burley, ID. Services are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
