Richard (Rick) Paul Piper Junior was born on January 25, 1955 to Richard Paul Piper and Elaine (Gochnour Piper) Perry. Rick was the oldest of six kids. Rick was a loyal, generous man, whose love of welding started in high school at Wes’s Welding. He got his pipe welding certificate after he graduated high school in 1974 from Burley High School. Rick was a welder for 49 years. He met his wife Cheryl Piper at the Riverside Bar playing darts on a team together. They were married about five years later and would’ve celebrated their 30th anniversary this year. Aside from caring for Cheryl and welding, Rick’s other passions included his chocolate lab and best friend Cocoa. He also enjoyed being in the mountains hunting, fishing and enjoying God‘s creation, among other hobbies. While Rick didn’t have any children of his own, he claimed, Cheryl’s son, Troy Walker, Cheryl’s daughter Crystal Walker and Yulia Bjekic, a foreign exchange student, as his own.
Rick was met at the rainbow bridge by Cocoa. He was preceded in death by son Troy Walker, and aunt Barbara Gochnour. He is survived by his father, Richard Paul Piper, mother, Elaine Perry, siblings Roger (Chris) Piper, Nancy (Craig) Richardson, Rex (Ruth) Piper, Russell (Kay) Piper and Brenda (Willie) Breshears, daughter-in-law Clydean Walker, daughter, Crystal Walker, and grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Water’s Edge Fellowship in Burley, Idaho at 11 am.
