Robert Vernon Harkness

Robert Vernon Harkness, 88 year old Burley resident, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.  He was born on December 12, 1926 in Selah, Washington to Howard and Rose Vetsch Harkness.  He was raised in Portland, Oregon.  On April 2, 1946 he married Barbara Cash in Burley.  Robert served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1947.  For several years he worked in the automobile business as an autobody repairman.  He is survived by his wife Barbara of Burley; her son Bradley (Kaye) Harkness; two grandsons, Terry and Michael Harkness.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two children, Nancy Harkness Kidd; Robert Steven Harkness.  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley with Military Honors provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans organization.  Burial will follow in the Declo Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.
