Rozella (Rosie) Toner

Rozella (Rosie) Toner passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at her home in Paul.  Rosie was born in Chinook, Montana on February 21, 1931, the daughter of John D. and Cora Winter. One of seven children.

She attended school there to the 8th grade, then moved to Douglas, Wyoming. Moved again to Henderson, Nevada, then again to Burley, Idaho.  After some time, she went to live with her Aunt Dolly in Inyo Kern, California and went to school on a Naval base.

When her parents separated, at age 14 she returned to Burley and worked in the Oregon Trail Cafe and the National Hotel coffee shop.

At age 16, she married George Toner on August 25, 1947 in Elko, Nevada.  She loved to crochet, embroidery, and work out in the flowers. She was self-taught in oil painting.

Her life revolved around her husband George Toner of Paul and her 3 children Sandra (Charles) Biermann, Michael (Tressa) Toner, and Daniel (Pat) Toner, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters Irene Gorman and Della Amen and brothers Dick, Jim, Garland, and Fred Winter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley.  Burial will take place in the Pleasant View Cemetery following the funeral service.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
