Sherry Peterson, age 81, died December 8, 2023, in Twin Falls Idaho.
Born in Rupert Idaho, Sherry grew up in Burley Idaho. Married the love of her life Charles Peterson December 1, 1960, and continued to live in Burley until 1972 when she moved to Heyburn Idaho.
Sherry became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at the age of 13 and remained a faithful member until her death. She served the church in several positions including nursery leader and ward librarian.
Sherry spent her early years as a mother and homemaker but enjoyed working at The South Idaho Press and SDS after her kids were grown. Sherry also found a second calling at ProActive Behavioral Health for one school year where she worked in a school setting, saying she enjoyed her second turn at high school more than her first.
Sherry enjoyed supporting her grandkids and great grandkids in their endeavors as she attended graduations, games and recitals.
Sherry is survived by her children Teresa (Bryant) Stringham, Tammy Lucero, Jon (Anna) Peterson, Charlece Eggleston, and Erica (Robert) Lopez, her sister Julie (Steven) Randall, her brothers Jim (Marilyn) Gochnour, Steve (Suzanne) Gochnour, Dan (Sheri) Gochnour. Fourteen Grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Proceeded in Death by her husband Charles Peterson, her parents Jack and Cleo Gochnour, her brother Lane Gochnour, son-in-law Josh Eggleston and a grandson Sterling Still.

Funeral service for family and friends will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Emerson ward building 127 South 950 East Paul, Idaho. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Morrison Payne Funeral Home 321 East Main Street Burley, ID and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will conclude with burial in the Peasant view Cemetery of Burley under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral home of Burley.
