Wayne Mullen, 67, passed away October 14th, 2021 at his home in Oakley, Idaho after a three year battle with cancer. Wayne was born November 7, 1953 in the Cottage Hospital in Burley, Idaho to Leonard Henry "Jack" Mullen and Edith Virginia Helms.
Wayne was raised in Oakley on the family ranch and graduated from Oakley High School in 1972.
On February 6, 1976, Wayne married his sweetheart Elda Koyle in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. They were best friends and spent their 45 years of marriage working and playing side by side. Together they have five children: Spencer (Ashley) Mullen, Stephanie (Kelly) McBride, Skylar (Michelle) Mullen, Sander (Natalya Colvin) Mullen, and Stewart (Alisha) Mullen; one foster son Ron (Annie) Smith and 20 grandchildren whom he cherished. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Virginia Mullen.
Wayne held several civic positions including Chairman of the Board for the Oakley Library, President of the Oakley Quick Response Unit, and until the time of his passing he served as the Chairman of the Board for the Oakley Valley Senior Citizens. Wayne also served in the Army National Guard reserve for 8 years.
Wayne was a hard worker! He worked at Simplot's for 8 years as a mechanic and an I&C tech. He moved to St. George, Utah where he worked for Bradshaw RV and later owned a construction business building decks and awnings. A few years later the family moved to Page, Arizona to run a foster home for Raindancer Youth Services. The following year, the family returned home to Idaho and worked for 11 years as the foreman for Matthews' Farms. He then owned a mechanic repair shop in Oakley for 4 years. For the past 18 years, he worked for BHI (formerly AMES) as an instrument tech and AOV valve tester in nuclear power plants across the country until his retirement.
Wayne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a missionary for the Church in the Guatemala/El Salvador mission from 1973-1975. He has since held many church callings, his favorite being a scoutmaster working with the youth. He served in that calling in 4 different states.

A viewing will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 22nd at the Morrison & Payne Mortuary in Burley, Idaho. Prior to the funeral service, an additional viewing will take place from 10:00-10:45 AM on Saturday, October 23rd in the Oakley, Idaho Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day Saints. The service will then follow at 11:00 AM. Internment will be in the Oakley Cemetery. The service will also be streamed live.
